Nail scissors for left-handers - difference to the right-handers model
For many left-handers it is difficult to cut their nails with normal scissors for right-handers. That is why we have the Remos nail scissors for left-handed people. Compared to normal right-handed scissors, the blades of the nail scissors for lefties are reversed. This makes it much easier for the user to cut the fingernails of the right hand using the left hand.
Cutting the nails of the left hand
Clever minds quickly find out that cutting fingernails with the left hand is not as easy as it was with the right hand. Tips for the correct way of cutting nails
If the nails are very thick and hard, it is recommended to soak them in a bath first. However, it is also sufficient if the nails are cut after showering or bathing. This not only has the advantage that the nails can be cut more easily, but also keeps the tip of the scissors sharp longer. It is important to make sure that they are not cut too short, but above all that that they are cut round. The cuticle under the nails is very sensitive and can no longer be protected when the nails are very short. Often it then tears and starts to bleed, which can not only be very painful but also makes the nails look untidy.
Filing fingernails is worthwhile
Even if the nail edges are cut very smooth, it is advantageous to file them additionally. Especially the corners can possibly press into the skin or grow into it without filing, which can lead to pain. A diamond, glass or corner file can be used for this. However, if the nails are too thick for scissors, nail clippers or nail pliers are recommended.
Care and maintenance of cuticle scissors
To protect the tips and blades, the scissors should always be kept in a case when not in use. A drop of oil can be added to the joints from time to time so that the blades can still be opened and closed easily. For more hygiene, the scissors should be cleaned and disinfected after every use. This can be done with alcohol at 70% vol. from the pharmacy or disinfectant. In case of prolonged contact with water or high humidity, it is important to dry the scissors thoroughly (a cloth is sufficient) and store them in a dry place.
